The Snyder Museum is hosting an event for area children.
Your Own Back Yard children’s camp will have activities focusing on Louisiana, its communities, artists and history. Campers will be able to participate in a crime scene investigations day as well as meet local art educator Dianne Patrick, who will talk about Louisiana artist George Rodrigue and his famous Blue Dog and northeast Louisiana author and environmental educator Amy Ouchley, who will share her knowledge of our area’s natural world. Ouchley will also hold a book signing of her children’s book Swamper, Letters from a Louisiana Swamp Rabbit, with copies available for purchase, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. July 18 in the museum.
Camp is open to children aged 6 through 12 and will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. July 15 through July 18. Campers will meet in the Garden Room on the Snyder Museum property and need to bring a sack lunch as well as snacks. Cost of the camp is $50 per child.
