The library's Overdrive system now allows patrons to check out up to four books at a time online.
The overdrive system allows Morehouse Parish Library patrons to check out e-books from their computers or other devices. In addition to e-books, there is also movies, audio books and music available for temporary download.

Visit to set up an account and download the overdrive. It will ask for the library card number. Once an account is set up, library users just have to click the overdrive icon and sign in.

Up to four books can be checked out at a time. Audio and ebooks may be kept for up to 30 days and then will automatically be deleted.

“This takes away the worry of getting charged late fees,” library director Ellen Highsmith said. “I'd love to see more people take advantage of this.”

Movies can be downloaded for seven days. Library users have a weekly download limit on MP3s.

If anyone needs assistance setting up an account or syncing it to a device, the library is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. Saturday.
