Keeping in mind what the 4th of July holiday is really about, a veterans' show will be displayed at the Snyder Museum starting July 9.
“We do this to honor the all of the veterans,” organizer Nelson Jones said.
The display will feature uniforms and memorabilia from veterans beginning with World War I through the current Middle Eastern War on Terror. The memorabilia is all from local veterans in Morehouse Parish. Flags for all branches of service will also be on display. In previous years, the display had been set up at the First Baptist Church, but will now be shown at the Snyder.
“I appreciate all the veterans, men and women, in service,” Sidney Jones said. “Some people don't realize they are serving to help keep us safe.”
An open house will be from 5 to 7 p.m. July 11 and there will also be outdoor displays. Snyder Museum hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
