The All-Louisiana College Baseball Team:

Cole Bagbey is an honorable mention selection on the Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana college baseball team.

Louisiana College's senior center fielder, Bagbey is listed on the team as a designated hitter.

A former Sterlington Panther, Bagbey hit .348 with 27 RBI. Besides leading the American Southwest Conference with 25 stolen bases, Bagbey topped the Wildcats in slugging (.470), on base percentage (.481) and hit by pitches (15).

Also representing Ouachita Parish on the team is LSU senior right fielder Raph Rhymes. The former Neville Tigers' season line includes a .331 batting average, .a 445 slugging percentage, a .401 on base clip, four home runs and 46 RBI. Rhymes, the Detroit Tigers' 15th-round draft choice, helped LSU make its first College World Series appearance since 2009.

LSU claimed four of the five individual awards as senior first baseman Mason Katz is Hitter of the Year, sophomore righthander Aaron Nola is Pitcher of the Year, shortstop Alex Bregman is Freshman of the Year and Paul Mainieri is Coach of the Year.

Louisiana-Lafayette junior outfielder Dex Kjerstad is the non-freshman Newcomer of the Year.

Katz led the Tigers in batting average (.370), home runs (16), total bases (156), RBI (70), slugging (.642) and on base percentage (.417).

In 17 starts, Nola posted a 12-1 record with a 1.57 earned run average and five complete games. Logging a staff-high 126 innings, Nola recorded 122 punchouts against just 18 walks and held opposing hitters to a .188 batting average.

Bregman, the national Freshman of the Year, compiled a .369 batting average and set the school's freshman record with 104 hits. Besides hits, he led the team with seven triples, 18 doubles and 16 stolen bases in 17 attempts.

In his seventh season as head coach, Mainieri guided the Tigers to a 57-11 record, the SEC West Division title and the SEC Tournament championship.

Kjerstad, the Sun Belt Conference batting champion, ranked in the top 20 nationally in batting average (.388), hits (99) and runs scored (63).
