Funeral services for Mrs. Verdelle Sawyer Williamson of Fayetteville, Ark., formerly of Bastrop, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Ingram will officiate. Graveside ceremony will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:30 P.M. until time for services in the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Mrs. Williamson was 99.

Mrs. Williamson is survived by her daughter, Jerilyn Nicholson and husband Nick of Fayetteville, Ark.; son Kent Williamson and wife Donna of Longview, Texas; two granddaughters, Michelle Kieklak and husband Ken of Fayetteville, Ark. and Aimee Avery and husband, Ray also of Fayetteville, Ark.; one grandson, Brad Williamson and wife Laura of Dallas, Texas and three great-grandchildren, Bella and Mia Kieklak and Nicholas Avery, all of Fayetteville, Ark.

Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Williamson, parents Steve and Neta Sawyer, three sisters and four brothers.

Mrs. Williamson was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. She attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Ark., now University of Arkansas, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Bastrop for many years. She assisted in banquets and special events for the family's restaurant, Arlie's Cafe. Over the years, she gained great pleasure visiting nursing homes and hospital patients.

Pallbearers will be Bill Belding, Jerry Ball, Terry Williams, Phil Carpenter, Jim Atkins and Ken Kieklak.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lamb, Morris Joe Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, Glen Bounds, Ray Avery and Steve Atkins.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to be made to First Baptist Church of Bastrop, 620 East Madison St. Bastrop, La. 71220.
