A Department of Corrections inmate is once again behind bars after walking off his job Friday night.
Morehouse Parish Sheriff Mike Tubbs said Shaun Chmielewski, an inmate housed at Morehouse Parish jail, walked off his job Friday night and was picked up by fellow employee Michelle Williams.
Williams harbored Chmielewski overnight and was located with him at a residence in Mer Rouge on Saturday morning.
Chmielewski was taken into custody and returned to the jail. He had less than one year left to serve on a burglary conviction and will now lose all of his "good time" through the DOC. He went before Fourth District Judge Scott Leehy Monday morning and had bond sat for the charge of simple escape at $10,000. Tubbs said warrants are being obtained for Williams' role in the escape.
Also in court Monday morning was L'Darrius Bolden, who was arrested on three charges of simple burglary of a vehicle and criminal trespassing. His bond was set at $2,500 per burglary charge and at $1,500 for the trespassing charge.
Stacyan and Tommy Kendall also faced Judge Leehy for bonds for charges of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. Stacyan Kendall's bond on that charge was set at $5,000 and at $2,500 for a charge of criminal conspiracy. Tommy Kendall's bond on the burglary charge was set at $30,000. On a charge of criminal conspiracy, bond was set at $15,000 and at $10,000 for flight from an officer.
Kendall was also arrested on a charge of bank fraud, with bond set at $20,000.
