  • Later in the day, Lt. Scott Culp spotted Tommy Kendall driving down US Highway 425 at Bethel Church. Culp initiated a traffic stop but Kendall refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. Kendall continued driving into Ashley County, where he turned off onto a gravel road. Due to traveling at a high rate of speed, Kendall lost control of the vehicle, wrecking it and fleeing on foot. Deputies with the MPSO as well as deputies with the Ashley County Sheriff's Office searched the wooded area for Kendall until it became too dark.
The search for Kendall continued Friday morning and around 3 p.m., a concerned citizen in the Berlin Road community saw a suspicious person and called Ashley County. As deputies from both the ACSO and MPSO arrived in the area, a second chase of Kendall ensued. He was apprehended and taken to appear in front of an Ashley County judge before waiving extradition and being transported to the Morehouse Parish jail. In addition to being wanted for the burglary on Simms Road, Kendall is also a suspect in thefts which occurred Thursday morning as well as on charges from West Carroll Parish.
In the early morning hours of Friday, the department received a call from a homeowner on Lynch Lane stating someone had just been seen inside his vehicle. The suspect fled the scene without taking anything. A second call was received from a homeowner on Lucy Hudson, stating he saw an unknown person running from his vehicle. As deputies were responding, Dy. John Lewis saw a man walking down Cherry Ridge Road. Lewis detained the man and after receiving a confirmation that the walker fit the description of the person seen fleeing both vehicles, L'Darrius Bolden, 9232 Tupelo Dr., was searched and cash as well as three weapons were found on him. Bolden was taken into custody as a third complaint was received regarding a pistol missing from a vehicle on Williamsburg Lane.
This case remains under investigation, with charges pending.
