  • "I knew the first day I walked in to my first job in a flower shop that I wanted to someday own a shop of my own," Word said.
Word was able to fulfill her dream of owning her own shop four and a half years ago, when she opened Southern Charm in Delhi. But, there was still something missing and she decided it was home. Word moved Southern Charm to Log Cabin and opened the new shop June 17.
"I am very excited to be back home and have really missed Bastrop," Word said. "I am looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones."
At the shop, located at 11545 Crossett Highway, Word will also have home decor, gift items and boutique clothing for women. She can do fresh flower arrangements, wreaths, custom baskets as well as specialty items for funerals, weddings and proms. Beginning in July, fresh produce will be available as well as Amish groceries such as jams, jellies and dehydrated vegetables.
"We are getting new shipments in everyday and will be offering Bridgewater candles and various clothing lines for women among other things," Word said.
Store hours are 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
