  • Deputy Odell Stone responded to the area, saw the vehicles south of Kinnaird Farms and ran the license plate on one of the trailers. The trailer came back as stolen from Dreher Farms in October 2012.
When Stone, other deputies and Lt. Scott Culp stopped the caravan, they found 37 head of Brangus cows, bulls and calfs loaded in the trailers. The cattle were identified as being stolen from an area pasture.
Five adults and a juvenile were taken into custody and three trucks with trailers and two horses were seized by the deputies.
Robert B. McKinney along with Rowdy Shane Ray, Carey R. Hutchinson, Kayla M. Stevenson and Brandy N. Fralik were charged with theft of livestock. McKinney and Ray were each charged with two counts, as they were also charged with the theft of livestock from a May 28 complaint and McKinney was additionally charged with possession of stolen property, criminal conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
All of the arrestees were transported to the Morehouse Parish jail and will go before a judge today to have their bond set.
Sheriff Mike Tubbs commended Lt. Scott Culp for his work on the case.
"Lt. Culp and Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission Inspector Carnie Burcham have worked together since the May 28 theft to locate these thieves and were successful in getting information to area cattle sales in order for others to beware of the stolen cattle," Tubbs said.
