The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office and the Bastrop Police Department are investigating several burglaries around town and in the parish and are looking for information regarding these thefts.

A rash of thefts of irrigation power unit batteries has the Sheriff's office looking for suspects. Witnesses to one of the thefts indicate two white men in a white Chevrolet pick-up truck are possible suspects. The batteries have been reported stolen from four farms in the Bonita-Jones area and west to the Knox Ferry Road area.

Twelve Brangus cows and three calves reported missing from a pasture north of Lightwood off the Old Bonita Road on May 28 are also still under investigation. The reward for arrest and conviction of the cattle thieves has been raised from $2,000 to $5,000. The cattle are branded with a joined "H6" brand.

On May 16, the theft of a 14 foot Brewer boat with a built-on deck and trolling motor as well as a 20 horse power, a seven and a half horse power and a four horse power Mercury motors, all black in color, were reported stolen from the Trail's End area.

On May 30, the Police Department received a complaint of two hot water heaters being stolen from their residence on Commerce Street.

The department is also looking for two individuals with felony warrants.

Mikhail J. Garrett, b/m, DOB 03.17.1990, is wanted on a count of aggravated second degree battery. Garrett's last known address was 9186 Oakwood Drive in Bastrop.

Desman M. Barnes is wanted on two felony charges of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and illegal possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Barnes is a black male born on 07.12.1981. His last known address was 117 Hanie Drive.
