Lagniappe has planned a week of activities for the residents and staff to celebrate National Nursing Home Week.
On Monday, they dressed up as hobos and joined the other nursing homes for a balloon release and games.
On Tuesday, they dressed up as disney characters and had cake for all of the staff. The Cherry Ridge Baptist Church bell choir came and performed for them.
On Wednesday, they wore Hollywood inspired outfits and had a 10-foot banana split.
On Thursday, they dressed up as super heroes and had nachos with chili and cheese.
Friday they will celebrate by wearing their Lagniappe t-shirts and having grilled hamburgers for lunch.
These activities are in addition to their regularly scheduled activities.
“Our goal at Lagniappe Healthcare is to provide quality care to our residents in a safe and comfortable environment. We want our residents to feel like they are at home and we want to make it as much like their home environment as possible. Our activity program is wonderful with a wide variety of activities that appeal to all residents with different interest. Our therapy department works hard to rehabilitate residents so they can return home and continue living as independently as possible. We strive in employing quality staff and maintaining good relationships with the staff to ensure their happiness as well. As an administrator in long term care it is very important to me to make sure all residents are receiving the best care. I am also proud to be a part of a facility that continues to offer specialty services to our local community and surrounding area,” said Administrator Amanda Boatright.
Lagniappe is a nursing home at 1408 Summerlin Ln. in Bastrop. Their services include tracheotomy, dialysis, 24-hour licensed and certified nursing care, regular physician visits, physician ordered diets monitored by a registered dietician, transportation with wheelchair lifts, hospice care services, respite care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and activities.
