Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Kilpatrick, age 83, of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2013 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Lilly and the Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kilpatrick, a former teacher at Eastside Elementary and retired social worker with the Louisiana State Department of Welfare, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013. She was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church for 61 years. Mrs. Kilpatrick enjoyed sewing for many years and was a member of a local homemakers club and the Sunny South Chapter of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Kilpatrick of Duluth, Ga.; Carl Kilpatrick of Milton, Wash.; sister, Mary Vercher of New Iberia; grandchildren, Coty Kilpatrick Thompson and husband Edwin of Tacoma, Wash., Callie Ann Kilpatrick of Tacoma, Wash. and Austin Carl Kilpatrick and wife Trinelle of Puyallup, Wash. She was also expecting the birth of two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kilpatrick was preceded in death by her husband, Zuma Kilpatrick; parents, Oscar and Ellen Vallery and a sister, Norma Thomas.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Wilson, Austin Carl Kilpatrick, Johnny Lindeman, Carl Brodnax, Jim Hayes, Bruce Davidson and Mike Moore. Serving as honorary pallbearer is Carlos Hernandez.
