Graveside funeral services for Jeannie Jones Butler of Mer Rouge will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Mer Rouge Cemetery. Officiating the services will be Brother Edward McCuin from Hillview Baptist Church and Brother Ezra Cook from First Assembly Church. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
Jeannie Jones Butler was born September 26, 1940 in Delhi and she passed away at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the age of 72. Jeannie was preceded in death by her son James Wilburn, her father W.B."Buck" Jones and her sisters Dianne Duckworth and Linda Lawhon.
Jeannie is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jep Butler Sr. They were married in Bastrop on June 18, 1960. Jeannie is also lovingly remembered by her mother, Pauline Jones; a son, Jep Butler Jr. and wife Teresa; her daughter, JoEllen Guyewski and husband Glen; grandchildren, Holly McCready and husband James, Elizabeth Butler, Clinton Butler, Zackary Welch, Janna Davis and husband John and Josh Guyewski; her sister, Mona Fisher and husband Rex; brother-in-law Bill Lawhon and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeannie enjoyed family, friends, and traveling. She will be dearly missed by the many lives that she touched.
