OCS 12, Crescent City 0

Quin Graves and Todd Pennebaker cranked home runs and a trio of pitchers combined for a one-hitter as defending Class 1A state champion Ouachita Christian smoked Crescent City 12-0 Friday in the first round of the state playoffs.
Israel Arceri opened the game with a base hit to right field, but that was about the only bright spot of the afternoon for the 32nd seeded Pioneers (9-17).
OCS (28-5) hung four runs on the board in the bottom of the first on RBI singles by Colby Webb, Jordan Washam and Austin Allen and Cade Harper's sacrifice fly.
Graves' two-run double and Pennebaker's three-run triple helped the Eagles break the game open with a five-run fifth, extending the lead to 9-0.
Relying on the longball, the Eagles wrapped up the scoring with three in the fourth.
Graves connected for his second homer of the season — a two-run shot over the left-center wall. Three batters later, Pennebaker cleared the left-center wall for his fourth jimmy-jack of the campaign.
Graves went 3-for-3 with a bomb, two doubles and four RBI to spearhead the Eagles' 13-hit output. Pennebaker drove in three runs with a homer and a triple, Jonathan Washam and Allen contributed two singles apiece and Braden Bristo, Colby Webb, Jordan Washam and Harper supplied singles.
Bristo (8-2) struck out five of the seven batters he faced for the win. Aaron George faced the minimum through two innings and David Joe Branch struck out the side in the fifth. OCS pitching struck out 11 and walked one.
Remaining at home for the regional round, the Eagles host Archbishop Hannan on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Micah Harper Field. Hannan, the No. 6 seed, shutout No. 17 St. Mary 8-0 in the first round.
