Angled pieces and clamps make life easier

Accurately clamping angled workpieces such as corner-cabinet face frames can be downright frustrating. But Club member Charles Southward of Adrian, Michigan, ended his gluing headaches by designing these clamping jigs. Cut from 3/4-in. plywood, the 45-degree-angle jigs fit the face frame of the workpiece exactly, then extend 3/4 of the way up the long side of the case glue-up. Charles places a jig at every biscuit location, positions the sections to be glued and tightens the clamps. The result is a perfectly aligned face frame and a clean, strong glue joint.
