The 2013 Crawfest and Trade Day’s Festival will open at 5 p.m. on April 17th at the Bastrop Fairgrounds. Lots of fun things are planned for this five day event. There is something for all ages and also all appetites.
Lester’s Seafood will boil about 7,000 pounds of Crawfish, plus he will serve other delicious seafood dishes.
Miller Spectacular Shows will bring 18 great fun rides with something to please all ages.
Entertainment is planned for every evening, beginning with Gospel all the way to Country, and even some Southern Soul.
Opening Wednesday night will be Voices of Tehillah Church, consisting of 20 choir members. I have not heard this group perform; however, I’ve been told if you enjoy great Christian music, they are the ones to perform for you.
The following night is dance night, with Cliff Lowery’s Country Band. If you don’t want to dance just take a seat with some good food and listen to the really, really good band.
A special night of Cajun music is planned for Friday night. Frankie Beese, described as the most soulful singer to ever come out of New Orleans, will perform from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., accompanied by the Murphy’s Law Band. This band will also entertain with some good country and Southern Rock, along with the Cajun music.
Saturday night will bring Ricky White and his five member band, to the stage performing Blues and R&B.
Over 35 Trade Day vendors will participate in this year’s Crawfest. We are full to the brim with vendors, both inside and outside, with everything from Tubs by Grubbs, jewelry and handmade items and much, much more.
Saturday there will be a Poker Run by the Christian Bikers for Charity and Ace the Clown will also provide fun for the kids.
Remember there is plenty of free parking and the gate fee is only $3 for six years-old and up.
