  • Warrent roundup nets 16 arrests

  • In a collaborative effort, the Bastrop Police Department, City Marshal's office and Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office pounded the pavement Friday in search of people who had failed to make court appearances and pay fines.

  • Law enforcement officials in Morehouse Parish put in a full days work Friday, with a warrant roundup that lasted from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and produced 16 arrests. Bastrop City Court sponsored the roundup which entailed all misdemeanor charges on people who have avoided going to court and/or paying fines.
    The law officials who conducted the roundup were City Marshal Lisa Chafford, City Marshal’s Deputy Marshal Terry Bowen, MPSO deputies Scott Floyd, Brian Rainbolt, Patrick Morrison, Scott Culp, Jeremy Streeter, Jeff Philley and reserve deputies Bart Greenwood and Steve Grantham.
    City of Bastrop officers involved were Alan Campbell, Chris Releford and Brian Jones.
    Arrested on misdemeanor charges were:
    Daneille B. Evans, 32, 57 Cherry Ridge Rd., failure to pay fine and two counts of failure to appear.
    Steven R. King, 28, 444 Prett, failure to pay fine, failure to appear.
    Willie Henry Quinn Jr., 50, 610 Padre St., two counts of failure to pay fine and failure to appear
    Danielle O'Neal Washington, 29, 6261 John L. Road, two counts of failure to pay fine and one count failure to appear.
    Kiwanda Jackson, 38, 4659 Cedar Dr., two counts of failure to appear and one failure to pay fine. Jennifer Harris, 31, 117 Huey, failure to pay fine and failure to appear.
    Kenneth Culpepper, 30, 8764 Cooper Lake Road, failure to appear.
    Desi L. Dowles, 39, 1903 Tucson, failure to pay fine, failure to appear.
    Synthia Mindling, 50, 1416 Jarvis, failure to pay fine and failure to appear.
    Kelly Ray Turner, 53, 123 West Carter, failure to pay fine and failure to appear.
    Kelvin E. Hall, 58, 1905 Tuscan, two counts of failure to pay fine and two counts of failure to appear.
    City Court Judge Phillip Lester commended Sheriff Mike Tubbs, City Marshall Lisa Chafford and Police Chief Downey Black and their staffs for their efforts.
