Cpl. Brian Jones has been with the Bastrop Police Department for the past three and a half years. He began his career in law enforcement four and half years ago with the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office, after playing in the NFL for the the Jacksonville Jaguars as a tight end for four years.
What inspired you to do this type of work? The documentary show on television – COPS.
What is the most challenging thing about your job?
Trying to keep my weight down.
What is your most memorable moment and why?
Last year when I was awarded the 2012 Officer of the Year by the Bastrop-Morehouse Chamber of Commerce at their annual banquet.
What do you like most about your job?
Being able to help people.
What do you like the least?
The early morning shifts. Other than that I love my job.
Experience? I graduated from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a degree in Criminal Justice. I'm certified in several areas, such as SRT.
Family? My mom is Leversia Jones. I have two sons, Bruntadius White, 13, and Brian Jones Jr., 3. Last, but not least, I have a beautiful girlfriend, Tameika.
