After a series of mid-week rainouts, the parish's baseball and softball teams are back in full swing this weekend.

Making up for time lost during a rainy week, spring sports teams get back into full swing today (Friday) and Saturday.

Bastrop High's track team will compete in the El Dorado (Ark.) Wildcat Relays this afternoon. Originally, the meet was scheduled for Thursday.

BHS softball coach Todd Briley and baseball coach Whit Whitlock probably aren't real happy about the revised schedule as both squads were pressed into playing district games on prom day (Saturday).

Bastrop's softball team will play home games against Neville today at 5 p.m. and Franklin Parish on Saturday morning at 10:30. This marks the third date that the Neville-Bastrop contest has been scheduled as the game was postponed on March 28 and again on Wednesday. The Franklin Parish game was initially scheduled for Saturday at noon, before the starting time was pushed forward because of the prom.

In a baseball series that has been rescheduled multiple times due to rain and prom, the Rams will entertain West Ouachita in a double header at Baron Ballpark. Starting time for the first game is 10 a.m. West Ouachita won the series opener 3-1 Tuesday in Cadeville.

Today's baseball game between Prairie View and Riverdale in Coushatta has been rescheduled for next Friday at 3 p.m. On Saturday, the Spartans will host Glenbrook in a JV/varsity double header, starting at 4 p.m.
