  • Locals report thefts

  • Lawn care equipment tops this week's crime stoppers.
    The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office has had several calls regarding the theft of lawn care equipment throughout the parish and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 281.0050.

  • • On March 28, a homeowner in West Lake reported a Shindaiwa weed eater, a Red Max weed eater and a Shindaiwa edger stolen from a lawn equipment trailer.
    • On March 31, a homeowner on the Collinston Rd. reported the theft of a Stihl weed eater which was on a trailer in the front of the owner's residence.
    • On March 29, two vehicle burglaries were reported from the Dew Drop Road area. In one of the vehicles, nothing was found missing, but the other complainant noted a Samsung cell phone was taken.
    • On April 2, a black Taurus 9 mm handgun was reported stolen out of a vehicle parked on the Bailey Store Rd.
    Also reported this week was a rash of graffiti was spray painted on signs allegedly by teenager on 4-wheelers. Homeowners in the Kayleigh, Noah and Fatheree Roads areas off of the Old Bonita Road. reported the youth spray painting "SUP" on roadsigns and a mailbox. They also reportedly threw toilet paper in the trees and yard of a home on Fatheree.
    If anyone has any information regarding these crimes, call Crime Stoppers at 281.0050. All calls are confidential and Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for the arrest and conviction of anyone involved.
