  • Fifth annual Spring Plant Sale

  • The fifth annual Spring Plant Sale, presented by Northeast Louisiana Master Gardeners, will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. April 6 at the West Monroe Farmer's Market.

  • Native plants as well as flowering vines, perennials, annuals, butterfly garden plants, flowering shrubs, plants for shady gardens and plants not usually found locally will be available for purchase. There will also be hanging baskets, house plants and an assortment of herbs and vegetables.
    Tours of the Butterfly Garden and butterfly related activities will be given and animal "Zoo Buddies" from the Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo will also be on site.
    Talks by local experts are slated throughout the day, with Teresa Morris speaking on herbs from 9 a.m until 10 a.m.; Kelby Ouchley speaking on native flora from 9 a.m. until noon; Buck Bounds speaking on soil from 9 a.m. until noon and Steve Hotard speaking on trees.
    Proceeds from the event are used for Master Gardener service projects such as the Butterfly Garden, LSU AgCenter beds, Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo and Kiroli Park.
