Fly me to the moon
Let me swing among those stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars.....
The Rose Theatre will host a night of jazz with Jeremy Davis and the Fabulous Equinox Jazz Quintet on April 6 in the historic Bastrop High Apartments' community room.
"Fly Me to the Moon," a pops concert, features band leader extraordinaire Jeremy Davis who was raised in the Louisiana Delta and now travels the country with his band that is more than a band.
The chill-bump raising voice of Clay Johnson brings another facet to the show that will turn teens into jazz lovers and make adults remember the days of their youth.
The show is not one to miss and in his own words, Jeremy decries the band as "The Rat Pack meets The Dean Martin Variety Show with a touch of A Prairie Home Companion. It's plain to see that we love what we do, and we love our fans. We're not your grandfather's big band."
The doors of the school will open at 6:30 and the show will begin at 7 p.m. The dress is business casual and patrons may "BYOPB," bring your own picnic basket. Tickets are available at the Visitor Center and are $20 a piece or a table for $160.
