Bastrop opens District 2-4A play Thursday night against Neville, with first pitch set for 6 p.m. at Baron Ballpark. The double header gets under way with a junior varsity game at 4 p.m.
Shifting to Monroe's Embanato Field, the series resumes with a JV game on Friday at 5 p.m. and concludes with a varsity double header on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Chase Cockrell will get the call on the mound for the Rams in Thursday's series opener. Kyle Perkins and Gavin Pollock will start Saturday's games, though not necessarily in that order.
In its final tuneup for district play, Bastrop trimmed Delhi Charter 6-5 in nine innings Tuesday night.
Trailing 5-2, the Gators put three on the board in the top of the seventh to send the game into extra innings, before Cockrell's opposite-field triple plated Morgan Edmonds with the decisive run in the ninth.
Perkins gave up three runs on four hits, struck out 13 and walked four in seven innings of relief for the win.
Pollock led the Rams (6-7) offensively with three singles and Cockrell drove in two runs with a triple and a single. Rounding out the 10-hit attack were Ty Cantrell with two singles, Edmonds with a triple, Khalil Key with a double and Dollar Ridgell with a base hit.
Hitting for the Gators were Colby Dulaney with a double, a single and three RBI, John Kevin Greer with a double and a single and Kole Stracener, Dillan Hosea and T.J. Ramshur with base hits.
Stracener was dealt the loss in relief of Will Zeigler and Austyn Davis.
