  • BLACK BAYOU —  The crappie are on the trees and are hitting shiners and jigs. Bass are around trees and brush with Rogues and jigs picking up some fish.
CANEY LAKE — The big bass are on the beds and several in the 8 to 10 pound range have been caught with most hitting Flukes or Centipedes fished on Carolina rigs. The crappie are starting to move to the back of the coves and are hitting shiners and jigs. No chinquapins have shown up yet.
CHENIERE LAKE — Crappie are scattered around the trees and hitting shiners and jigs. Bass are moving shallow with some caught on a black/blue lizard.
LAKE CLAIBORNE —  Lots of smaller bass, 2 pounds and smaller, are being caught in shallow water on wacky worms and lizards. The crappie have moved in around the shallow brush in the back of the creeks and are hitting shiners and jigs. A good many stripers are being caught below the spillway.
Catfishing has been fair on yo-yos baited with shiners.
LAKE D’ARBONNE — The crappie are moving in and quite a few are being caught around the shallow trees on the Black Lake hair jig and Bobby Garland jigs. Some are still hanging in 8-10 foot water. Bass have been good around the shallow trees with the Rat-L-Trap in Cherry Bomb pattern working best. Catfish are biting and the bream are just beginning to bite.
OUACHITA RIVER — Crappie are in the back of the creeks and river lakes and hitting shiners or jigs. Bass are fair at the mouth of the run-outs on Rat-L-Traps and plastic lizards.
LAKE POVERTY POINT — Some big crappie are being caught shallow with shiners as well as hair jigs and Bobby Garland Blue Thunder and Electric Chicken jigs working best. Bass are fair and catfishing is good on cut shad and night crawlers.
LAKE ST. JOHN — Crappie are fair and catfishing is good on yo-yos baited with shiners. Bass are slow to fair.
LAKE YUCATAN — The water is rising two feet a day and few are fishing. Once the water crests and begins falling, look for some good fishing to take place.
