The Bastrop Police Department and the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office are asking for help in several recent thefts as well as information on a wanted person.
On March 5, a construction trailer parked at a residence on Bayou drive was broken into and several misc. tools were taken along with a M Glow double tank air compressor, a Delta mitre saw and a Dewalt grinder. On that same day on North Lake, a farm shed housing two boat trailers was broken into and both trailers stripped of the tires and rims, running boards, wiring, wiring harness and lights, the spare tire, a jack and a wench. Across the parish that day, a farm shop between Mer Rouge and Bonita was broken into and 12 18-wheeler tires and rims were taken. In the Horseshoe Lake area, three homes were entered illegally and a dryer, Gateway computer and an alarm system was taken.
On March 11, seven large 12 volt batteries and a automobile battery were taken from a farm in Bonita. On March 14, the MPSO received a call from a homeowner on Dogwood Hills Rd. regarding a leaf blower missing from under the carport.
On March 17, a Husqvarna lawnmower, a Craftsman leaf blower, weed eater and electric trimmer as well as shovels, rakes, a pole saw and gas cans were taken from a residence on Westlake.
Inside the city limits, police are looking for two white males driving a white pick-up truck in connection with a series of break-ins on Cleveland St. In these break-ins, power tools were stolen.
The BPD is also looking for Eric Laquan Johnson, a black male who allegedly attempted to rob two men in a vehicle. When the men fled, Johnson began firing at the vehicle and hit a home on Limerick Street. Johnson, who is considered armed and dangerous, is 5'10" and weighs 225 pounds. His date of birth is July 30, 1993.
