Todd Pennebaker clubbed a two-run home run to back the four-hit pitching of Colby Webb as Ouachita Christian took out Rayville 13-3 Saturday morning at Micah Harper Field in the Bastrop-Sterlington Tournament.
Trailing 3-0, the Hornets closed within a run on Corey Gilbert's two-run single in the top of the fourth.
OCS responded with three in its half of the fourth.
Jordan Washam singled, advanced to second on Webb's sacrifice bunt and scurried home on a pair of wild pitches. Hayes Barber's two-out walk set the table for Pennebaker's second home run of the season — a two-run shot over the left-center field wall — which pushed the Eagles' lead to 6-2.
R.J. Walters' solo clout in the top of the fifth brought the Hornets within 6-3, but the Eagles — sparked by Braden Bristo's two-run single — put the game away with seven in the bottom of the frame.
Webb (3-0) gave up one earned run on four hits, while striking out six and walking one.
Pennebaker homered and singled for the Eagles (16-1), Jonathan Washam doubled and singled, Jordan Washam went 2-for-2 and Bristo and Webb singled.
Hitting for the Hornets (9-6) were Walters with a round tripper and Nathan O'Briant, Jonathan Wallace and Corey Gilbert with safeties.
Ethan Daily, the first of three Rayville pitchers, was dealt the setback.
