Braden Bristo punched out 16 and Jordan Washam scored the winning run on an throwing error in the bottom of the eighth as Ouachita Christian trimmed Oak Grove 3-2 Friday evening in the Bastrop-Sterlington Tournament.
Jordan Washam opened the eighth with a base hit to right, moved into scoring position on Colby Webb's sacrifice bunt, took third on Quin Graves' base hit and continued home with the game-winning run on an errant throw.
Bristo and Oak Grove's Cory Wiggins exchanged goose eggs until the Eagles struck for two in the home half of the fifth.
Graves punched a leadoff single to center and advanced to second on Hayes Barber's sac bunt. Todd Pennebaker then chased Graves across with a double to right-center. With still nobody out, Bristo was hit by a pitch, placing runners at first and second. With one down, Jordan Washam sneaked an RBI single through the right side of the infield, putting OCS in front 2-0.
Oak Grove (11-3) came back with a deuce of its own in the sixth.
Martin walked on four pitches to start the frame and came around to score on Cole Pippin's triple to right field. Trey Auger's base hit up the middle squared the game at 2.
Bristo (3-1) threw 116 pitches in the complete game effort, holding the Tigers to four hits and issuing only two walks.
OCS (15-1) out-hit the Tigers 7-4. Jonathan Washam went 3-for-4 to key the Eagles offensively, Graves rapped two singles, Pennebaker doubled and Jordan Washam singled.
Pippin tripled and singled for the Tigers and Auger and Sam Philley collected base hits.
Martin absorbed the loss on the mound for the Tigers in relief of Wiggins, who fanned 10 and walked three while running his pitch count to 129 through seven innings.
