Obitaury Samuel A. Gregory
- Graveside funeral services for Mr. Samuel A. Gregory, age 89, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Woodrow Reeder officiating. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Golden Funeral Home.

Mr. Gregory, a resident of Farmerville, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013. He was retired from Smalling Brothers Construction Company. Mr. Gregory was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart recipient.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, James Dye; parents, Sam Alexander Gregory and Carrie Vestina Thompson Gregory; brothers, Guy Gregory, Roy Gregory, Jimmy Gregory, Johnny Gregory and Bill Gregory; and sisters, Dora Matheny, Ada Osborn, Mary Louise Matheny, Vera Wilson and Dorothy Stokes.
Mr. Gregory is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ann Gregory Jones; son, Samuel Wayne Hodges; sister, Ellen "Sis" Gregory; brother, Thomas "Buddy" Gregory; two grandchildren, Lori Tyson Pearson and husband Johnny, Charles Tyson and wife Nancy; six great-grandchildren, Patrick Goodwin, Ryne Goodwin, Pace Pearson, David Tyson, James Dye Jr. and Cody Holloway; and two great-great-grandchildren, Charlie Tyson and Ollie Tyson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the veterans charity or association of the donor's choosing.
