Amanda Patrick went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles as Bastrop edged Oak Grove 8-7 in nine innings Wednesday evening.
Bastrop (6-4) never trailed, but Oak Grove battled back from two runs down to tie the game on three occasions.
With the score gridlocked at 6, Tia Coleman walked, leading off the top of the ninth. Sarah Fagan followed with a double and, two outs later, Patrick connected for another two-bagger, putting the Lady Rams up 8-6.
Oak Grove put the tying run on base with nobody out in the home half of the ninth as Haley Plunkett and Malorie Owens laced back-to-back singles.
Alexis Lowery's RBI groundout drew the Lady Tigers within 8-7, but Bastrop pitcher Kenyshae Beasley avoided further damage to seal the victory.
Bastrop built a 2-0 lead with single markers in each of the first two innings, before Oak Grove tied it up with two unearned runs in the second.
Walks to Tia Coleman and Ashley George, sandwiched around Fagan's base hit, set the table for Patrick's two-run double in the fifth.
Oak Grove answered with two of its own in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game again at 4-4.
The two teams also matched deuces in the sixth.
With two outs and the bases empty, Beasley singled and Shelricka Bryant and Coleman boomed consecutive doubles.
Jessica Travis walked, Drew Bennett singled and Abby Cook lofted a sacrifice fly to right as Oak Grove evened the scoreboard at 6-6.
Beasley went the route for the win, scattering seven hits and walking only one. Four of the runs charged to Beasley were unearned.
Bastrop out-hit the Lady Tigers 13-7. Patrick led the way with two doubles and two singles, Bryant and Fagan doubled and singled, Beasley stroked two singles, Coleman doubled and Delaney Mayo and Megan Crymes singled.
Hitting for The Grove were Lowery with two singles and Sydnie Gates, Bobbie Jo Desselle, Bennett, Plunkett and Owens with base knocks.
Jessica Travis was dealt the loss in the circle for the Lady Tigers in relief of Cook.
Bastrop will take the weekend off, before visiting Neville for the District 2-4A opener on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
