Dee McDaniel and Ashley George powered back-to-back home runs to highlight Bastrop's 16-1 softball victory over Mangham on Tuesday afternoon.
Having its way from the get-go, Bastrop exploded for seven runs before the Lady Dragons came to the plate.
Kenyshae Beasely led off the game with a base hit to center, Shelricka Bryant reached on an error and Tia Coleman legged out a bunt single. Two runs scored as Chelsea Fagan reached on an error, before being thrown out attempting to advance to second.
With the bases clear, McDaniel walked, George singled, Amanda Patrick drew a free pass, Delaney Mayo was safe on a misplay and Megan Crymes added an RBI groundout.
Back to the top of the batting lineup, Beasely singled for her second hit of the inning and Bryant reached on a mishandled fly ball, bringing the score to 7-0.
After Beasley worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the first, the Lady Rams put three more on the board in the second.
Fagan banged a leadoff double, leading up to McDaniel's two-run blast. George followed with another home run, pushing the Lady Rams' lead to 10-0.
Keyed by consecutive singles from Bryant and Coleman, the Lady Rams increased the spread to 12-0 in the third.
Mangham got on the board in the home half of the third when Morgan Duchesne singled, moved to second on Miranda Smart's sacrifice and crossed home as Katie Mullins reached via a throwing error.
Bastrop wrapped up the scoring with four in the fourth. Back-to-back RBI doubles by Bryant and Coleman highlighted the inning.
Beasley held Mangham to four hits in the complete game win.
Coleman paced the Lady Rams' 13-hit operation with a double and two singles. George hammered a round tripper and a single, Bryant and Fagan doubled and singled and Beasley helped her own cause with a pair of singles. McDaniel went 1-for-1 with a circuit and three walks and Crymes singled to round out the attack.
Meagan Duchesne had two singles and Kennedy Heister and Morgan Duchesne supplied base hits for the Lady Dragons.
Bastrop (5-4) opens District 2-4A play at Neville on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
