- Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Laura Jane Harp Waters will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Bonne Idee-Harp Cemetery with the Rev. Molly McGee officiating. Services will be under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Laura Jane Harp was born July 29, 1921 in Mer Rouge to the late Thomas Young (T.Y.) Harp and Alberta Degelow Harp. She passed away March 4, 2013, surrounded by her family, at the Oak Woods Home in Mer Rouge. Mrs Waters was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Captain James W. Waters; and her siblings, Dorothy Harp Blackwell and Thomas Young (T.Y.) Harp Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Bennett and husband, Ronnie Bennett; two granddaughters, Julie Bass and her husband, Tommy Bass and Melissa Haskins; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Waters nephews.
