Contestants were judged in the categories of interview, modeling and speech, impromptu speech and horsemanship. Each girl was required to have a speech relating to their country, state or anything with a western theme. They also had to answer the question, “What do you think makes Louisiana great?”
The current La. High School Rodeo Association Queen, Logan Poole, was the emcee of the pageant. She is a junior at Claiborne Christian School and has participated in rodeo for six years.
Poole crowned Macey Colvin of Dubberly as the newest NELA High School Rodeo Queeen. Colvin is 17 years old and is home schooled. She is the fourth generation of Colvins to participate in rodeos and has been competing in pageants for five years. She is also the owner of Fanci Feet Dance Studio.
