A lot of people have strong opinions about what they perceive as overrated beers.
I won’t go into what I’ve read over the years, because the list is far too long. What you don’t hear too much talk about is underrated beers. These are the beers that may take up a small market share in a region, or maybe get passed over because they only come in bombers, and not six, or 12 packs.
Here is my very small list of some of the underrated beers, and breweries in the area:
1. Sebago Brewing Company. I had my first experience with them about 3 years ago in Maine. It was a Double IPA, and it was amazing. I only had one of them, because at 8 percent its big beer, but boy is it a great beer. I found them later in a 12 pack, and I can’t think of single beer in that twelve that was only ok. Everything was really good.
2. Berkshire Brewing Company. I have never had a bad beer from them. Their Hefeweizen is one of the best American Hefs I’ve ever had, and I look forward to it coming out every year. Plus, their Steel Rail is one of the best signature beers of any breweries.3. Ipswich Brewing Company. Their Oatmeal Stout is their best beer, and if its on tap I get it. There other beers are good too, and I’ve never been disappointed by them,4. Red Hook Brewing Company. I like there stuff, but I tend to pass over it for some reason. May be their packaging looks too commercial, or something, but when I do get it its always good. Their ESB is their best beer in my opinion. So, let me know what you think are underrated beers. No opinion is wrong, and I always love to know about what people think of beer.
