  • Graveside funeral services for Maurine Franklin, age 84, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.

  • Mrs. Franklin, a homemaker, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013. She was a resident of Bastrop and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church. She loved caring for her grandchildren and taking them on trips.
    Mrs. Franklin is preceded in death by her husband, Quain Franklin; granddaughter, Kara Michelle McKay; parents, David and Martha Ellen Antley; and brothers and sisters, Howard Temple, J.B. Antley, and Lena Mae Thompson.
    She is survived by her son, Charles D. Franklin of Bastrop, LA; daughter, Marilyn Sue Shaw of Bastrop, LA; six grandchildren, David Franklin, Matthew Rinehart, Michael Rinehart, Brian McKay, Chris McKay, Kerri McKay Johnston; and five great grandchildren, Daniel Laing, Donald Lynn Johnston, Mia Rinehart, Aden Rinehart, and Caleb McKay.
