  • Funeral services for Mr. J.C. “Bud” Veazey, age 71, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Charles McLean officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Golden Funeral Home.

  • Mr. Veazey, a retired carpenter for Bastrop Roofing and Construction, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Mr. Veazey was a member of Horseshoe Baptist Church. He enjoyed his grandkids, fishing and his work. Mr. Veazey is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Edna Mann; sister, Jeanette Bonner; and daughter, Veronica Lynn Herrington.
    Mr. Veazey is survived by his wife, Gayle Veazey; one daughter, Angela Gladney and husband Andy of Bastrop, LA; one son, Jeffrey Shane Veazey of Bastrop, LA; one sister, Lena Marriott of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Roger Veazey and wife Pat of Winnsboro, LA, Kenneth Veazey of Collinston, LA; three grandchildren, Jeremy Herrington, April Burnham and husband Jason, Brittany Gladney and Tyler Moody; one great granddaughter, Jacee Lynne Burnham; and numerous other family and friends including special friends, Bobby and Syble Sanders.
