Senior post players Michelle Hardin and Danielle Greely combined for 40 points as Bastrop took care of Franklin Parish 61-42 Tuesday night, halting a three-game losing streak.
Jamecia Robinson's three-point play gave the visitors their only lead of the evening, 3-2. Jalijah Wheeler connected from the left baseline and Tia Coleman popped the twine from the elbow to put Bastrop up 6-3.
Bastrop gradually built its lead to 19-12 by the end of the quarter as Hardin finished the quarter with six points and Greely five.
Leading 23-17, the Lady Rams pushed the gap to 12 on Greely's bucket from the low blocks and two deuces from Hardin.
Bastrop carried a 31-19 cushion into halftime.
Jalexi Heard scored four points as the Lady Patriots opened the third quarter with a 5-1 spurt to climb within 33-24. Greely answered with a putback and a pair of free throws to put the Lady Rams up 37-24 and Franklin was never again within single digits.
Concluding the third quarter with five unanswered points, the Lady Rams' lead swelled to 47-30 heading into the final frame. Hardin converted from the paint, Tamia Hawkins added a free throw and Deja Robinson drove the lane.
Franklin was never closer than 17 in the fourth quarter.
Hardin topped the Lady Rams' scoring chart with 23 points, Greely turned in 17 and Deja Robinson 10.
Jamecia Robinson, Myesha Ellis and Heard pocketed 10 points apiece for the Lady Patriots (14-5, 1-3).
Bastrop (14-5, 1-2) is at home against Neville on Friday, before stepping outside of conference play to host Ruston on Tuesday.
