  • Mr. and Mrs. John G. Spires of Bastrop, LA, are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Sarah McBride Spires, to Michael William Moon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael S. Moon of Birmingham, AL.

  • The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Judge and Mrs. Merwin M. Brandon Jr. of Bastrop and the late Mr. and Mrs. William V. Spires of Mer Rouge.
    Michael is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marshall L. Moon of Gadsden, AL, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Massengale, of Birmingham, AL.
    Sarah is a graduate of Prairie View Academy, University of Louisiana at Monroe, and Paul Mitchell The School Birmingham.
    Michael is graduate of Oak Mountain High School and The University of Alabama.
    The couple will marry Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Hoover, AL.
