Mike Jordan overcame 28 opposing anglers and unfavorable fishing conditions as the Bussey Bass Club held its first tournament of the season Saturday on Lake Providence.

Mike Jordan prevailed over some challenging fishing conditions as the Bussey Reservoir Bass Club out of District 2 held its first tournament of the year Saturday on Lake Providence.

High water, windy conditions and muddy water made for a tough bite for the 29 anglers. Daron “Bonz” Goyne weighed in the only five-fish limit of the day.

Jordan's winning string of three fish totaled 13.3 pounds and included the 5.6 Big Bass.
Rounding out the top five were Goyne (10.11 pounds), Grady Rinehard (7.13), Jeremy Hinton (6.9) and Timmy Williams (5.4).

The club will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, in the Morehouse Sheriff's Dept. meeting room. Anyone interested in joining the club is invited to attend. For more information, call Grady Rinehart at 669.1987 or Ronald Dement at 355.1659.
