What does your volunteer work entail?
My volunteer work entails many aspects because I love helping people and networking. I'm always willing to work on various projects and I love helping others less fortunate. In general, I love helping out where ever I can. It's my way of giving back because of my many blessings.
What do you find rewarding about your volunteer work?
I find volunteer work rewarding because I love making a difference. One small difference can affect many. I usually make it a family affair by getting my family involved.
What is something about your work that most people don't know?
Even though monthly meetings are not held this time of the year, we are still in constant communication, thinking about future projects and what can be done differently. Vicki Carpenter is a great communicator and keeps us abreast on current happening regarding grant applications and progress regarding ongoing projects.

In 2011, Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne announced the launch of a statewide call for volunteers campaign, All We Need is U. An initiative of Volunteer Louisiana, the campaign is designed to rekindle the spirit of service, citizenship and volunteerism among all Louisiana citizens. The statewide All We Need is U campaign urged Louisiana citizens to volunteer their time, talents and abilities in their local communities. The campaign launched with billboards in Shreveport and Baton Rouge and also a donated vinyl wrapped truck to act as a traveling billboard. It displays the All We Need is U campaign message and travels across the state. I was nominated by the United Way of Northeast Louisiana and was selected to appear in the billboard campaign which launched around the state and my billboard debuted in February 2012 in West Monroe, LA at 2812 Cypress St. Also the website features Kathy's picture at http://u.volunteerlouisiana.gov/#contact1
