The Rose Theatre recently received a $1,000 dollar grant from Entergy. Rose Theatre board member, Kathy Lenard, said the donation will be used to help fund the dinner theatre production in April 2013. "We are excited about receiving this grant," Lenard said. "The funds will be quite helpful with the costs of the upcoming plays." Lenard said the production costs range from costumes, to lighting and to the food served as the actors perform the murder mystery to the audience. Several Rose Theatre board members were present Monday morning to formally accept the check from Entergy's customer service manager, Cindy Gordon. Board members were all smiles as they expressed their gratitude to the Entergy representative for the grant. Lenard said the Rose Dinner Theatre plays are always a wonderful experience for the entire family and tend to sell out in a hurry. "Our dinner theatre productions always get killer reviews," Lenard said. "The Rose Theatre emphasizes family entertainment and fun and provide a showcase for many talented actors in this area." Rose Dinner Theatre murder mystery will be held at The Bastrop Visitor's Center, 124 N. Washington St., on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, 2013, doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Clues to 'whodunit' will be provided to the audience as they dine.
