  • Police departments and sheriff's deputies from across western Louisiana converged at the East Leesville Baptist Church last week for multijurisdictional counterdrug task force training, sponsored by the Louisiana Narcotics Association and hosted by the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office and Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force. The two-day training session was taught by Mike Conner, an instructor at St. Petersburg College in Florida. Officers from as far as Shreveport, Bossier City and Allen Parish participated in the two-day training sessions, along with officers from Vernon, Beauregard, Natchitoches and surrounding parishes.
