Tallulah 0, Prairie View 0
Prairie View denied Tallulah on fourth-and-goal from the 3 with 4:00 to play to preserve a scoreless draw in the third and final game of the Prairie View Jamboree on Friday night.
Tallulah came up with a red zone stop of its own early in the contest.
Garrett Laird's fumble recovery on the fourth play of the game enabled the Spartans to start their first series with favorable field position at their own 44.
Catching a pass out of the backfield, Laird advanced 32 yards down to the Tallulah 24. Layne Gray's 10-yard burst gave the Spartans another first down at the 14, but the Spartans went backwards from there.
Taking over on downs at their own 18, the Trojans moved to the 11 with the aid of a personal foul against the Spartans and a 39-yard thrust by Zach Boney.
Tyler Boyette's nine-yard keeper led to a first-and-goal from the two. An illegal motion call backed the Trojans up to the seven, leading to fourth-and-three from the four. Austin McDonald and Josh Daigle then teamed up to stop Boyette for no gain, turning the ball back over the Spartans' offense.
Gray's 11-yard gain on first down gave the Spartans some operating room at the 15.
Going for it on fourth-and-three from the 22, the Spartans moved the sticks on Dylan Carroll's six-yard pickup.
Two plays later, McDonald hauled in a short pass behind the line of scrimmage, juked a defender in the backfield and bolted 18 yards for a first down at the Tallulah 46 with 20 seconds remaining.
After an incomplete pass, Tallulah's Preston Harris stopped a pass in the Spartans' backfield for minus two yards on the game's final play.
