Kaylah Hobbs and Kristin Bozeman drove in two runs apiece as Prairie View turned back Riverfield 7-6 Thursday afternoon in MAIS softball action.
With the score tied 6-all in the bottom of the fourth, Kristin Bozeman drew a bases-loaded walk for what proved to be the deciding run.
Riverfield jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, before the Lady Spartans tied the game with single markers in the first and second.
Hobbs' RBI triple plated Erika Guerrero, who reached on an error, in the first.
In the second, Kristin Bozeman and Katie Bryan were safe on misplays and Brianna Jacobs lofted a game-tying sacrifice fly.
Riverfield regained the lead with a run in the top of the third, but the Lady Spartans answered with four in their half of the frame.
Guerrero banged a leadoff double to left, swiped third and crossed home on Hobbs' base hit, tying the game at 3. Jeri Harper and Kristin Bozeman followed with base hits, putting Prairie View up 4-3. Krista Bozeman, running for Harper, and Kristin Bozeman both eventually scored on an errant throw.
Riverfield evened the board at 6-6 with three in the visitors half of the fourth.
Prairie View pushed the go-ahead run across in the bottom of the fourth and held the Lady Raiders scoreless over the final two innings to preserve the victory.
Hobbs tripled and singled as the Lady Spartans out-hit the Lady Raiders 7-5. Guerrero doubled and Kristen Oliphant, Harper, Kristin Bozeman and Bailey Ryder singled.
Harper went the distance for the win, striking out three, walking four and scattering five hits, while pitching around seven errors.
Prairie View (12-1) defeated the Lady Raiders for the third time in four outings. The two teams meet again Tuesday in Rayville at 6:30 p.m.
