Kassidy Henry finished tied for 38th in the 13th annual U.S. Kids Golf World Championship held Tuesday-Thursday at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C.
Approximately 1,200 golfers ages 8-12 competed in the 54-hole event.
Playing in the 8-year-old division, Henry shot 54-51-51—156. Ameri Avery of Riverside, Calif. won the tournament with a score of 109, three strokes ahead of the second place finishers.
The tournament featured a true international field. In the 8-year-old division alone, golfers hailed from the United States, Ukraine, Mexico, Japan, Italy, Singapore, Canada, Australia, Ecuador and the Philippines.
A former Bastrop resident, Henry now resides in Richardson, Texas, but listed Bastrop as her hometown for the tournament. She was the only player hailing from Louisiana in the tournament.
Henry qualified for the tournament by placing second on the Dallas area spring tour.
Kassidy Henry is the daughter of Kirk Henry and Roselyn Rose Henry and is the granddaughter of Billy and Elowise Rabon of Bastrop.
