Board weighs price of Beekman expansion, new taxing district

New classrooms and a potential new tax district were just two of multiple, serious topics discussed during Tuesday's Morehouse Parish School Board committee meeting.

While the district recently spent $39,000 to get a chiller up and running again by the first day of school at Bastrop High, it learned that the cost to build five new classrooms at Beekman Jr. High – last year at full capacity of 400 students – may ultimately be cost prohibitive.
