Parks & Rec releases youth football signup dates

Signups for the Pee Wee, Tackle I and flag football leagues will be held Monday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 17 at the Bastrop Parks & Recreation office, located in Room 224 of the City Hall Complex. Registration will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Please be advised of the following guidelines:

PEE WEE

* All participants must be at least 10 years old and may not turn 13 years old before Sept. 1.

* Students entering grades 4-6 are eligible (7th graders are ineligible).

* Each player will be required to present their birth certificate. No exceptions!

* Signup fee is $55, which covers insurance.

* All participants must attend signups in order to be weighed.

* Weight limit for the league is 185 pounds.

TACKLE I

* All participants must be at least 7 years old and may not turn 10 years as of Sept. 1.

* Each athlete must present a copy of their birth certificate at signups. No exceptions!

* Registration fee is $55, which includes insurance.

* Athletes must attend signups in order to be weighed.

* The league has a 165-pound weight limit.

FLAG

* All participants must be at least 5 years old and may not turn 6 years old prior to Sept. 1.

* Each player will be required to bring a copy of their birth certificate. No exceptions!

* Signup fee is $35, which includes insurance.
