    BLACK BAYOU — Crappie fishing is slow to fair around the grass on shiners or jigs. Bass are best on floating worms and lizards fished around the grass. Bream are fair on crickets and worms.
    CANEY LAKE — Look for the bass to be schooling early mornings and hitting topwater shad imitation lures. Deep water structure along the humps and ridges are best spots to try a big plastic worm and deep diving crank bait. Night time fishing is producing some bass on black spinner baits and plastic worms. Crappie are slow to fair with scattered catches made around the deeper tops on shiners or jigs. Catfishing is fair to good tight-lining cold worms on the bottom. Chinquapins are fair to good on the 8 foot flats on cold worms.
    CHENIERE LAKE — Bass fishing is best on Rogues and topwaters early mornings while Wobbleheads are picking up some around the grass later in the day. Bream and crappie are fair on Beetle Spins and Road Runners fished under overhanging limbs.
    LAKE CLAIBORNE — Bream fishing is fair on worms and crickets fished around bedding areas. Crappie are slow. Stripers are schooling early mornings and some are hitting soft plastic shad imitations in breaking schools while some have been caught trolling white bucktails. Bass are best early mornings fishing topwater lures and Baby Brush Hogs around structure. Catfishing is fair to good fishing prepared baits or liver on the bottom.     LAKE D’ARBONNE — Bream fishing has been quite good fishing worms off the banks. Lots of frying sized channel catfish are being picked up along with the bream. Crappie are rather slow and not many anglers are going after them. Bass are best early on topwater lures and buzz baits with Wobbleheads picking up some later around the grass.     OUACHITA RIVER — Bass fishing is fair in breaking schools. Shad colored crank baits are working best. Crappie are fair with better catches made in the bayou drifting jigs. Bream are slow to fair.
    LAKE POVERTY POINT — Bream fishing has been good using the Carolina Jumbo worms. Catfish are biting cold worms or cut shad around the “jungle”. No report on bass or crappie this week. For latest reports, call Poverty Point Marina at 318-878-0101.
    LAKE ST. JOHN — Bream fishing has been good on worms and crickets. Bass are best early and late on topwater lures. Crappie are slow but catfishing is good. Call Doug Miller or Ken Mahoney at Lake St. John Grocery (318-757-0013) for latest reports and fishing conditions.
    LAKE YUCATAN — The water continues to be very low and best crappie catches have been made in the middle of the lake trolling jigs. Bass have been good on the Zara Spook while the bream are biting worms and crickets. For latest information, call James Lachney at 318-467-2259.
