Morehouse National breezed through the Pitching Machine Sub-District Tournament at the Caldwell Parish baseball complex with a 5-0 record.

Morehouse's victims included Rayville National (7-4), Winnsboro (21-5), Mangham (19-5), Caldwell Parish (17-0) and Concordia Parish (13-3).

Morehouse 13, Concordia 3

Morehouse National scored three runs in the top of the first and never looked back to finish out the round robin tournament undefeated.

Javari Sanders bashed a triple, double and single and Cade Murphy knocked a triple and two singles to lead the Nationals at the plate. Mickel Peoples doubled and singled, Joey Chain, Michael Peoples, Brendan Woods, Kaleb Christmas and Zane Morgan jabbed two singles, Mason Basinger tripled and Eric Kelly singled.

Jake Roberts, Douglas Johnson and George Ham delivered two singles apiece for Concordia, Shawn Shannon tripled and Blade Jordan, Juan Mapos and Mike Rushing singled.

Morehouse National 17, Caldwell 0

Joey Chain and Javari Sanders pounded out three hits apiece as Morehouse blanked the host team in the semifinals.

Chain and Sanders both clubbed a double and two singles. Alex Maldonado crashed a homer and a single, Cade Murphy tripled and singled, Brendan Woods, Zane Morgan and Mickel Peoples doubled and singled, Kaleb Christmas and Eric Kelly punched two singles and Michael Peoples, Mason Basinger and Quadarrius Scott provided base knocks.

Bryce Martin, Bruce Brugnicks and Larry Roberts singled for Caldwell.

Morehouse 19, Mangham 5

Morehouse improved to 3-0 in tournament play with a convincing decision over Mangham.

Morehouse struck for four runs in the top of the first and stretched its lead to 11-3 with seven in the second.
Brendan Woods topped Morehouse's 26-hit blitzkrieg with a triple, double and single, Michael Peoples slammed a double and two singles, Cade Murphy rapped three singles, Mason Basinger tripled and doubled, Quadarrius Scott and Mickel Peoples tripled and singled and Joey Chain, Javari Sanders, Kaleb Christmas, Eric Kelly and Zane Morgan singled twice.

Dewayne Curtis doubled and singled for Mangham, followed by Corey Limbeck and Willie Burgess with two singles, Jack Nielson with a triple and Dustin Lively, Tim Hutson, Tony Gwin, Michael Young, Curtis Henderson and Colt Casey with base hits.

Morehouse 21, Winnsboro 5

Quadarrius Scott slugged a home run and two singles as Morehouse National overpowered Winnsboro.

Joining Scott in the 27-hit attack were Cade Murphy with a triple and two singles, Mason Basinger and Michael Peoples with a double and two singles, Joey Chain and Eric Kelly with three singles, Zane Morgan with a triple and single, Brendan Woods, Kaleb Christmas and Alex Maldonado with two singles and Javari Sanders with a base hit.

Ty Collins and Mike Ready bounced two singles apiece for Winnsboro, Doug Foster and Terry Pleasant doubled and Donnie Pepper, Billy Williams, Frank Newman and Bill Winters singled.

Morehouse 7, Rayville National 4

Morehouse National built a 4-0 first-inning lead on its way to a hard-fought first round victory over Rayville National.

Kaleb Christmas smacked a pair of doubles to spark Morehouse offensively. Joey Chain doubled and singled, Javari Sanders, Cade Murphy and Quadarrius Scott popped two singles and Michael Peoples, Brendan Woods, Eric Kelly and Mickel Peoples singled.

Andy Kirby was Rayville's leading hitter with a double and single, Kelly O'Quain, Dale Ellis and Gavin Dickens were next with two singles and Jose Chavez, Bryan LaCroix, Zack Chisholm, Dale Garrett and Cade Odom singled.
