West Monroe North 8, Morehouse 6
Down to its final out, four straight West Monroe North batters reached safely as the visitors dealt the host team a gut-wrenching loss.
After the North's first two batters went down quietly, Nick Phillips and Travis Loveland singled to put the go-ahead run on base. Blaine Holloway then launched a three-run homer about three-quarters the way up the light pole in left-center field to give West Monroe its first lead since the top of the first.
West Monroe grabbed an early 1-0 lead when Zack Hill reached on a two-out, two-base error and cleanup batter Skyler Wilhite delivered an RBI single up the middle.
Morehouse didn't need long to answer as leadoff batter Bryce Wallace drove the second pitch of the bottom of the first over the fence for an authoritative game-tying home run.
Morehouse would add two more in the inning. Tanner Caldwell legged out an infield single, moved into scoring position on Kenton Norman's groundout and crossed home as Jacob Walker reached on a two-out, two-base error. Ashton Lollie followed with an RBI single to center, giving the tournament hosts a 3-1 edge.
West Monroe, which scored all eight of its runs with two outs, tied the game with a deuce in the third.
With two down and the bases empty, Cameron Miller beat out an infield single, Joe Craighead thumped an RBI double down the right field line and scored as Luke Saxon was safe on a misplayed fly ball.
Morehouse reclaimed the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third without the benefit of a hit.
Kenyon Beasley was safe on a leadoff error and Ryan Chain walked. Two outs later, Grant Girtman walked to load the bases and Norman reached via error.
North threatened in the fourth as Wilhite made his way aboard on an error and McCade Townsend drew a free pass to put runners at first and second with only one out. Morehouse shortstop Tanner Caldwell then fielded a ground ball, tagged the runner en route to third and threw to Wallace at first base to complete an inning-ending double play.

North began to chip away at the deficit with two in the fifth.
Holloway lashed a one-out single to left. One out later, Saxon, representing the top of the lineup, smashed a two-run bomb over the left field fence, slicing the Morehouse lead to 6-5.

Wallace went 2-for-3 with a homer, a single and three RBIs to pace Morehouse. Lollie was 2-for-2 with a  double and Caldwell and Jenkins singled.
