  • BLACK BAYOU — Bream are on the beds and hitting worms and crickets. Crappie are fair around the grass mats on shiners or jigs. Bass are fair on floating worms.
    CANEY LAKE — Crappie fishing has been good fishing around the submerged tops in 15-foot water with Bobby Garland Blue Thunder jigs and shiners taking some fish on ultra-light gear. Bass are schooling off the deep water points and some are hitting shad imitation crank baits, Carolina rigs and finesse worms. Bream are fair around the beds.
    CHENIERE LAKE — Bass are hitting on top early and late with Wobbleheads best during the days. Bream and crappie are being caught on smoke grubs on Beetle Spins fished with ultra-light gear.
    LAKE CLAIBORNE — Bass fishing has been fair to good with best bites coming late afternoons and at night with some to 5 pounds caught. Crappie fishing is fair around the deep tops. Not too many fish but they’re big ones. Catfishing is good on trotlines baiting with bream with a 67-pounder reported. Smaller catfish are biting on trotlines baited with liver.     LAKE D’ARBONNE — Crappie fishing has slowed with best bets coming from fishing shiners or jigs 8-12 feet deep in 15-20 foot water in the deeper sloughs. Bass fishing is fair with some hitting buzz baits and topwaters early and late while Rat-L-Traps and finesse worms are picking up some fish from breaking schools. Wobbleheads are taking some bass at mid-day around grass and trees. Bream fishing continues to be good and the catfish are always biting off the banks on cold worms.     OUACHITA RIVER — The bass are schooling and hitting crank baits, topwaters and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are around the submerged tops in the river and bayou, especially around stumps. Jigs and shiners are working best. Bream are fair in the sloughs and river lakes.
    LAKE POVERTY POINT — Catfishing is good fishing cold worms or cut shad. Bream fishing has been fair to good on crickets and worms. Bass are slow to fair with some to 6 pounds caught.     LAKE ST. JOHN — Bass fishing has improved with a good many caught early and late on topwaters. Midday, soft plastics are working best. A few crappie have been caught by bream fishermen using crickets. Catfishing is good; bream are slow.     LAKE YUCATAN — The water is at a stand-still and fishing is improving. Bass to 4 lbs. are hitting spinner baits. Crappie fishing is improving with not too many but some really big fish caught.
